U.S. Citizen Services
Voting Overseas
U.S. citizens overseas are encouraged to participate in our democratic process by voting from abroad. There is a specific website dedicated to overseas voters—www.fvap.gov—with which all U.S. citizens residing overseas should be familiar.
Please note that you cannot simply log on to a website and vote at the last minute. Almost all states require voters to physically send in registration documents, receive paper ballots by return post, and mail in their completed ballots. Adequate preparation is key.
You cannot register to vote or vote at the Embassy. However, we do have on hand absentee ballot request forms which you can complete at the embassy and send in to the appropriate office for your place of residence as outlined at www.fvap.gov.
