United States Joins International Judicial Conference in Abu Dhabi

Chief Judge Robert Henry of the United States Court of Appeals led the delegation, which also included United States Court of Appeals Judge David Ebel and Jeffrey Minear, the Administrative Assistant and Chief of Staff to the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court.
 
The Conference was attended by representatives from 32 countries, including many Chief Jeffrey Minear, Chief Judge Robert and Judge Ebel attending the International Conference of the Presidents of the Supreme Court of the World in Abu Dhabi on March 23, 2008Justices and Supreme Court Presidents from those countries.  Themes of the conference included relations between Federal and local judicial systems; common challenges that judicial systems worldwide face in the 21st Century; and discussion of the commonalities and differences between Shari'a law and other world legal systems.  Chief Judge Robert Henry presented the paper for the United States, and delivered an address during the first session of the Conference entitled "The Relationship Between Federal and Local Judicial Systems in the United States".
