The Global Economy
President Barack Obama announced April 17 two key appointments at the Department of the Treasury: Herbert M. Allison, Jr., as Assistant Secretary for Financial Stability, and William J. Wilkins, Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service. On April 21, Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner presented both written testimony to Congress and opening remarks on the continuing work of the Obama Administration to stabilize credit markets and, on April 22, addressed the Economic Club of Washington.
