Expanding Our Bilateral Science And Technology Cooperation
On October 25, Ambassador Olson attended the opening session of a workshop on "Applications of Remote Sensing for Water Management" hosted by the Arab Water Academy, a regional training institute for policy managers and decision makers funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, the World Bank, the Arab Water Council and the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture. Several officials from the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration participated in the workshop, which was attended by officials from the UAE and many other Arab countries. This workshop is only one example of President Obama's pledge to expand U.S. cooperation with the Muslim world, particularly in science, technology and environmental cooperation.
