Abu Dhabi Women's College Honors U.S. Embassy's Support
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education, presented Ambassador Richard Olson with the award for Most Supportive Embassy at the annual Tamayuz celebration on June 16, 2009, when Abu Dhabi Women's College honors community and corporate partners for their contributions and support to education. Over the past year, the U.S. Embassy has organized a number of programs and exchanges with Emirati colleges and universities, including particularly a performance by the U.S. Air Force Band "Falcon" at ADWC, and opportunities for ADWC students to study abroad. Ambassador Olson accepted the award from Sheikh Nahyan in recognition of our strong and continuing partnership with the UAE to promote education, cultural exchange and the building of bridges between the U.S. and the UAE.
