U.S. Embassy Participates in a Pre-Departure Orientation for 80 Recipients of the 2012 Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Scholarship Program

Ministry of Higher Education officials, and academic advisors from the UAE Embassy in Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi participated in a panel discussion.

The U.S. Embassy, through its EducationUSA advising program, participated in a pre-departure briefing for 80 recipients of this year’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Scholarship program, along with their parents. 

The program was attended and sponsored by H.E. Dr. Saeed Al-Hassani, Undersecretary, and H.E. Mr. Saif Al-Mazrouie, Assistant Undersecretary, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The Senior Educational Advisor from the U.S. Embassy opened the EducationUSA portion of the event by congratulating the students and wishing them success.  She then delivered a presentation on traveling to the U.S., university life and adjusting to a new environment.

An academic advisor from the Cultural Division of the UAE Embassy in Washington, DC, gave an overview on the role of the embassy and the support provided to students.

Helping Emirati students succeed at American colleges and universities is an important part of the mission of the U.S. Embassy to the United Arab Emirates.
